This is an intermediate lesson on finding and opening documents. It uses the power of the Documents list

3. Search
Search

1. Search by date Range, Matter
2. Staff and Code
In the example above : we are searching for all of the pleadings on the Able vs Ontario Matter
List shows Search results

The list now shows just the pleadings on the Able matter.
1. It is in date order (Date is bold and the arrown is down).
You can change the sort

1. You can change the sort order by clicking on the column header. In the example - description
Refine your search - F2 remembers you last search

1. Pressing F2 (or clicking combined search in the task panel) remembers you last search
2. You can further refine your search. In this example - we want the pleadings on Able that have the word claim in the description
Get to your exact document faster

Refining your search gets you to your exact document faster.
In this example - we now see the Statement of Claim and the Amended Statements of Claim
You have found your document - now what?

1. Clicking the document description will open the document.
2. You can view anything that was added to the memo section
3. Open the directory to email multiple documents as Outlook attachments
4. You can delegate a task quickly
The document record can become more than a pointer to a physical document. The memo section is easily seen and these notes are full text searchable. There are times when you need to email many documents to another person. Time Matters Outlook integration only allows you to attach 1 document at a time. You can open the directory and attach many to an Outlook email.
Upon review of the document you may want to delegate a task. Click Add DELE and a delegated task will open already related to this matter.
Don't forget it is just a list

1. You can search from the task panel
2. You can also use the search box to quickly search across descriptions and all fields in a document record. A good example is a matter number.
