Version 10 includes a key modification to billing. The description field has increased in length allowing us to make use of the PCLaw Worksheet
Open the PCLaw Workshet

1. PCLaw Worksheet on the main toolbar
2. The worksheet appears
NOTE: if you do not have a PCLaw worksheet icon on your toolbar it can be added. (Insert link to admin-changing toolbar)
Direct data entry - PCLaw Worksheet

There is a keyboard pattern to data entry in the PCLaw Worksheet.
Enter - tab - text - tab - tab - tab - enter
Enter opens the row for data entry, you then tab through the fields (enter you text) and when you are done the entry, you must press Enter to add the data to Time Matters.
1. Make sure to get the correct Matter - the field will auto-fill
2. The summary information from PCLaw will display,
3. After the description, remember to press ENTER
Note: The summary information from PCLaw helps you understand the status of the matter that you are working on. in this example, Barry Able has an accounts receivable for $8,654.00 and you have added $2,000.00 of unbilled time. This could tell you a lot.
Create New - Billing from Matter list

1. Find the Matter
2. Press Create New
3. Select Billing and fill out the Billing form. then save and close
Note: If you are working in the Matter list - reviewing documents, email etc... you can add a billing entry from there, you do not have to go to the PCLaw worksheet.
Send other Records to Billing (note example)

1. With a Note open. Press send to billing
2. Complete the billing form. As much information as is possible will be sent from the note to the billing.
Note: This can be used with all of the other record types as well. Documents and email are good examples. When you are saving an email - you can send to billing.
PCLaw Worksheet - the view of your day

1. Open the worksheet, it will default to today
2. Totals will be shown
Submit = Send to PCLaw

When you are ready press Submit to send the billing entries to PCLaw.
NOTE:
Once the entries have been sent, any updates to these billing records will not be sent to PCLaw. Time Matters will allow you to make changes, but these changes will not be refelcted in PCLaw
After Submit

1. The Worksheet will be blank.
2. You can select a different date range to make sure you did not forget to send previous entries to PCLaw.
The Worksheet is not available in my Time Matters - Some setup is required

If you cannot find the PCLaw worksheet, it may be that it is not set up. You should contact your Time Matters admin. If that is us...feel free to submit a help ticket.
1. Program Level Setup - Links - Billing
2. Select PCLaw and Set Billing Options
3. Billing Options tab
4. Make sure Use PCLaw Worksheet is checked (also set your rounding above)
Look in PCLaw for entry errors

1. Open the PCLaw register
2. Check filter box then push filters
3. Change to unbilled time and
4. Press OK
Note:
You should look in PCLaw for any data entry errors, 0 hours, $0 rate or an Amount for the entry = $0. Doing this throughout the month, before billing will lessen the time and effort required at billing.
PCLaw Register - sort by amount

1. Clicking the Amount column will put all of the entries with $0 at the top. This will expose any data entry errors.
Note:
There may be instances where the amount is supposed to be $0. You should develop a policy so these entries are easy to locate quickly. Perhaps put *** infront of your descriptions if the matter is not supposed to be charged. This will also help you at billing time ensure these entries are supposed to be $0. You can edit and remove the *** before the bill is sent.
