Find the Matter - Create New

1. Find the Matter (if you are having trouble finding the matter see the basic navigation section (insert link)
2. Click Create New and select People
3. OR pres Add in the powerview

QuickCreate - the shortuts

1. Quickcreate - lightning bolt opens the QuickCreate Area
2. Click on the type of person that you want to add. A people form will open with as much information filled out as possible.

Note:
This is an example screen. Yours may differ by the areas of law the firm performs.

People Form - The big decision

The big decision. Is this person in your contact list? If not, should they be?

Scenario 1 - This person is in the firm's contacts and on other matters

1. Use the lookup botton at the end of the Name field (F2 keyboard shortcut). In the pop-up help find the contact.
2. The address information will be entered in the form.

Note:
The Contact and the People are now linked. If the Contact address changes, you should update the contact. Time Matters will automatically update the People records

Scenario 2 - The Person in NOT in the Firm's contacts - but they should be

1. Use the lookup button
2. In the lookup - select Add Record to add a New Contact

Note:
This is adding a new contact for others to use and relate to other matters

Scenario 3 - The person should NOT be in the Firm's contact list

1. You can type here. Last Name, First Name
2. Enter the contact information if you need it

Note:
This is used when you want to know all of the people involved, but the firm would never contact this person outside of this case. The firm may not contact the person at all..which may be the scenario with the parties to the matter.
